Jaap Evers

Jaap Evers works at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education as Senior lecturer in Water and Environmental Policy as a member of the Water Governance department. He is also the co-programme coordinator of the MSc Water and Sustainable Development. He has been involved in various research and capacity development projects in South- and Southeast Asia, and Eastern Africa.

 

Jaap’s research interests revolve around policy implementation, and more specifically policy mobility, policy learning, policy -implementation- practices, and implementation feasibility in planning in the water sector.

Before joining IHE Delft in 2012, Jaap finished his MSc in Tropical Land use – Irrigation and Water Engineering at Wageningen University, and his PhD at the University of Twente on policy implementation strategies by Dutch water authorities, and worked at Meta Meta Research. In IHE Delft’s education programme Jaap is involved in the courses: Strategic planning and futuring, Finance and implementation, Water Policy (short course), and coordinates the MSc thesis trajectory. He also is part of an IHE Delft and TU Delft team, who created a joint online programme on Water Strategy and Planning. In his education, he has the ambition to further develop students’ critical thinking on policy, planning and implementation in relation to a more just and sustainable world.

IHE Delft Institute for Water Education offers post-graduate education in Delft, The Netherlands, and carries out research and capacity building projects all over the world. The mission of IHE Delft is to contribute to the education and training of professionals and to build the capacity of sector organizations, knowledge centers and other institutions active in the fields of water, the environment and infrastructure in developing countries and countries in transition.
