This call offers researchers within the Joint SDG research initiative the opportunity to enhance the uptake potential of tangible solutions in research results on different scales. Aims of this programme are to promote scaling of promising innovations for the achievement of the SDG Agenda and to support the conceptual knowledge base, learning and research capacity of early career professionals.
Purpose
The SDG Scaling Grants programme offers researchers from previously funded NWO projects within the Joint SDG research initiative Tackling Global Challenges through Use-inspired Research the opportunity to enhance the uptake potential of tangible solutions in research results on different scales. The aims of this programme are to promote scaling of promising innovations for the achievement of the SDG Agenda and to support the corresponding conceptual knowledge base, learning and research capacity of early career professionals. For the SDG Agenda, it is crucial to unlock successful tangible solutions from specific cases for implementation in relevant other contexts, i.e. up-, down- or outscaling. Such scaling of results can be achieved in e.g. other levels (e.g. of a chain, upwards or downwards), in other sectors, disciplines and/or regions. Scalable results include tangible research interventions or (social) innovations, e.g. services, products and/or technologies.
