Hans Maltha

Hans Maltha obtained a Master degree in Social Geography, from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, with focus on Development Studies and Urban Planning in developing countries. Additionally, he obtained a gymnasium level teaching degree in geography (secondary education).

Hans started his career in IHS (Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies), Rotterdam, the Netherlands, for which he fulfilled a long term assignment in India in the nineties for almost 4 years. After 9 years at IHS, he worked for Nuffic and has initiated and developed NUFFIC/NPT project portfolio’s in Uganda, Rwanda and South Africa. After working at the Technical University Delft, in the field of internationalisation and particular in the field of ICT in teaching and learning, at the faculty of Technology Policy and Management, Hans started as Managing Consultant at CINOP Global and has been responsible for the acquisition and implementation of various NICHE projects. CINOP is the main think-tank and advisor/provider for the Dutch TVET sector. Currently, Hans is leading 5 institutional development projects in TVET and 3 in Higher Education in Mozambique, Kenia, Ghana, Ethiopia and Bangladesh. From 2011 to 2016 he was responsible for the development of a university based incubator in South Africa, in the context of the Nuffic/NICHE program.

Hans has as more than thirty years of experience in the acquisition, development and implementation of capacity development projects in Africa and Asia and has the last decade been focussing on employability, labour market analyses, skills development, incubation and start-up support, and staff development contributing to organisational strengthening and institutional development of institutes of Higher and TVET education.
