Tjerk Busstra

Tjerk Busstra studied political sciences (specialization; international relations) at the ‘Vrije Universiteit’ Amsterdam (1969 – 1981), combining his studies with being a teacher ‘maatschappijleer’ at secondary schools (1974-1981).

He continued his professional career as an educational and didactical specialist at the teachers’ college VL-VU (1981-1987).

As from 1987 he was heading the Management & Organization faculty of the Amsterdam Academy of Banking and Finance, including the responsibility for internationalization. From 1995 till 2002 he was deputy director and co-director of the commercial department of Hogeschool Holland, including international projects. After the foundation of Hogeschool INHolland (2002) he became responsible for INHolland’s International Projects Department, which includes projects all over the world (a.o. Eastern Europe; Russia, Ukraine, Georgia: Asia; China, Indonesia, Malaysia Latin America: Mexico, Argentina).

Tjerk Busstra is experienced in international educational projects, project management, project finance. In 2007 he was awarded an honorary doctorate degree in Business Administration at the Tbilisi State University of Economic Relations (Georgia), where he recently was appointed professor in Strategy & Management (April 2009).
